Burqalicious makes the Australian Book Industry Awards

Seems like ages ago my first book came out, Burqalicious – The Dubai Diaries. We had a little celebration at a tepanyaki restaurant in Sydney (here I am amongst the salty aftermath), and then I had a book launch because it’s not every day you get a book published. We even had champagne, ooh er.

Last night I received the news that it’s been nominated in the Australian Book Industry Awards for International Success of the Year, which is exciting. My lovely publisher at HarperCollins Australia believes this is due to its numerous overseas rights sales. So far Burqalicious has been sold in Australia and New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Germany, Taiwan, North America and Canada. I think there might be somewhere else, but I can’t remember.

Huge thanks to everyone who has supported me so far. Even if it doesn’t win, it doesn’t really matter because being nominated is cool enough. (Obviously that’s a lie).
