Burqalicious

‘Burqalicious – The Dubai Diaries’ was published in February 2011 by HarperCollins Australia and it was my first book. This cheesy pic was edited by the people at The Telegraph in Sydney, so I nicked it.

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

It’s about my life and how it changed when I moved to Dubai to work as an online editor for a glossy mag back in 2007 – 2009. Glitzy parties, glamorous hotel breaks, weekends away with my (married) Arabic boyfriend all followed, and then crashed along with the economy. Ya live and learn. And sometimes, you write a book about it.

WHERE CAN I READ IT?

You can buy it on Amazon and/or get a sneek peek inside on the HarperCollins website. So far ‘Burqalicious – The Dubai Diaries’ has been published in Australia, New Zealand, China, Russia, Poland, Germany, Slovenia, America and Canada.

To be honest, I never knew this series of scribbles and random blog posts about life in the sand pit would end up as a book, or that it would ever be published, but seeing it on the shelves was pretty exciting stuff! I had a launch party at Arial Books in Sydney, which was a great night. Check out the launch speech here:
