Things to do in Denver, Colorado (apart from smoke pot)…

Denver is probably one of the most chilled cities in the USA. It's not somewhere I really thought I'd ever go, but seeing as I'm in Boulder just 45 minutes by bus up the road, I thought I pop over and explore. I used Airbnb.com to book a room for a few days and if you're going solo or with a partner I would highly recommend this place in Capitol Hill. My host Martin was lovely. He even left me...Read More

A real Colorado gun show…

So I found out a gun show was taking place in Denver last weekend and seeing as I've never been to one (and will probably never go to one again) I went along. My friend rather wanted to buy a gun, and the first lesson I learnt was that you need the right State license to do so. Unless you live in Colorado, you can't buy a gun here. Sadly he has to wait until he gets back to Texas...Read More

How to beat an alcohol ban (and get seriously addicted to oysters) in Denver: The Oxford Hotel has it all!

"Do you know why the hallways are so wide?" our guide asked us as we were shown around the spectacular and seriously luxurious Oxford Hotel in Denver, Colorado this weekend. How cool is that? I can’t imagine a hotel being...Read More

Why I am getting my tickets to the gun show…

I've never been to a gun show but it just so happens that there's one in Denver next weekend and I've decided to go. Well it's just up the road, innit. I don't think we have gun shows in the UK. No one there has guns really because... well, because they're dangerous (dur) and we can't be trusted not to kill things/people, but Americans of course never do silly things like that, so yes, there's a great big hall of...Read More

I’m in America!!! And this is why I love it…

I love how in Whole Foods, here in Boulder, Colorado, a sample sized sandwich is the same size as a sandwich I'd make for myself, so I never have to pay for lunch. I love how everywhere I look there are grinning pumpkins awaiting Halloween on porches, which have railings and fences sprayed with cobwebs, scattered with giant, fake spiders. I love how each street looks like a scene from a storybook. I love how the colours of Autumn seem...Read More
